Hello, hello! Today's post, I wanted to share my thoughts on the brand Colourpop cosmetics. I recently made a purchase from them including a Lippystick set and some eyeshadows from their collab with Shaaanxo. If you're anything involved with the beauty community, especially on Instagram or Youtube, then you should have heard of this Southern California based cosmetic brand. If not, then here are a few tidbits: their products are made in the USA, LA to be exact, not tested on animals, and budget friendly ... I mean super budget friendly, $5 for an eyeshadow or lippystick each! And as from experience, most of the time budget friendly cosmetics will be great on your wallet, but not your face. Well this is not the case with these products ladies and gents! They are amazing for the quality and price. Keep reading for my further review :)
Now lets get on to the products themselves and quality! I personally have heard more about their $5 Lippysticks than their eyeshadows, so I had to make sure to grab some of those before anything else! They have so many colors and finishes to choose from, but instead of picking random shades, I went with the Forget the Fruit Cake limited edition Lippystick set. Available for $30
Packaging:
I love the packaging! The way the lipstick is shaped makes it so much easier to apply, and the white tube with holographic letters is so fun :)
Quality:
The pigmentation of the lippysticks were great. Although I did experience a lot of 'feathering' while applying and I came up with two reasons: they do design a matching lip liner for each of their lippysticks and I did first swatch without a liner nor did I purchase any in this haul (but lesson learned, always buy the matching lip liner!) and for my second reason, I have the worlds most undefined lips that I can never make anything look sharp and perfect when applied, hahaha! So I will just recommend that with the purchase of a Lippystick to just look into buying the matching liner :)
Now time for the eyeshadows! For my first purchase, I decided to pick up the foursome quad collab'd with Shaaanxo! These four shadows are a beautiful blend of earthy tones that really compliment each shade and a range of skin tones and eye color. Dear Miss Shaaanxo: if you ever read this, these colors are absolutely gorgeous and I am so happy that I got a hold of them for my collection! :) Here are some photos of the colors. Available for $20
The packaging is great quality, I was really happy that nothing arrived all cracked and broken in the mail. The only thing I might change would be to make the shadows be able to depot into an empty palette to have all your shadows together and more travel friendly, especially for an artist, But I also have no experience into what it takes to package a shadow and what it takes to make it work! So really for at home use, its great.
Quality:
These shadows are so, creamy, soft, velvety, and the color payoff is great so far! I always apply my shadows before my full face of makeup to avoid fall-out, but there was non to clean up! If you've seen other reviews and videos of people explaining these shadows to almost feel 'wet' when touched with your finger, its exactly as it sounds! I've never felt a shadow so soft before and still have virtually no fall-out. The shade Deluxe has a gorgeous pearlized, sparkly finish and I've found that the color comes off true-er to shade when applied with a finger and packed on (as with any shadows with sparkle).
Overall, I would definitely be making future ColourPop purchases and recommend them to all my friends! I still cannot get over the pricing of these products for such an amazing quality. If you are interested in building your collection, purchasing from a brand that tests all products on themselves and not furry friends, and can get down with amazing/ fun packaging, then definitley give them some love! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel as I recently heard that these ladies package and create these products all themselves in the labs? That is hard work and true love for what you do! I'll leave their links below as well as scattered througout this review :) Please feel free to leave any comments or questions! Have you tried out this brand? What is your favorite product or shade from them?
